The original version of the song, the version that appeared on "Air Fire Water", had just me on guitar backed with Brian on bongos. After the album was released, our boss Slim Guy believed that this song had enough potential to become a single, but not without adding a few more instrument tracks. So after Tina came out of her 'goth phase', she was willing to add a bass track to the song. Slim also suggested that we add some echo to the 'na-na-na' coda, and brought in an anonymous session musician to play accordian on the refrain. These changes made it to the finished single version, which you are about to hear.
